Brainport's high-tech manufacturing ecosystem is dense because equipment makers can source engineering, mechatronics, electronics and precision manufacturing from companies operating in the same regional labour and supplier market.
A supplier map becomes useful when companies are grouped by capability and evidence of semiconductor relevance rather than by proximity alone.
OEM, first-tier and specialist roles overlap
Large equipment companies integrate complete systems. First-tier suppliers may own substantial modules or manufacturing processes, while specialist businesses contribute motion control, electronics, optics, vacuum, software or precision parts.
The boundaries are not perfectly fixed because strong suppliers increasingly take responsibility for design and systems engineering as well as manufacturing.
Publicly disclosed capability is safer than presumed customer relationships
Many supplier relationships are commercially sensitive. DBR therefore avoids claiming that a company supplies a particular OEM unless the relationship is public.
The durable research question is what capability the company has, where it is located, what scale it operates at and which markets it publicly says it serves.
