19 Dutch Semiconductor Companies at SEMICON Taiwan Show What Exists Beyond ASML

ASML dominates almost every international discussion of the Dutch semiconductor industry. The Netherlands Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan 2026 is a useful corrective. Nineteen Dutch companies and organisations are exhibiting together in Taipei, covering parts of the chip supply chain that range from edge-AI processors and quantum systems to packaging equipment, precision manufacturing and power protection.

SEMICON Taiwan and Holland High Tech list the pavilion participants for the 2 to 4 September event. Rather than treating the delegation as a diplomatic photo opportunity, the more useful reading is as a compact directory of capabilities that sit around Europe's most important semiconductor equipment cluster.

The delegation starts before a chip reaches the factory

Axelera AI and Qualinx represent the design side of the ecosystem. Axelera develops an AI inference platform combining hardware and software for edge computing, while Qualinx works on radio and connectivity silicon. Orange Quantum Systems adds quantum test and measurement capability, and MicroAlign sits in silicon photonics and optical integration.

These companies matter because Dutch semiconductor policy cannot rely indefinitely on one segment of manufacturing equipment. A deeper ecosystem needs intellectual property, design capability and emerging computing architectures alongside the machinery used to fabricate chips.

Packaging and process equipment reveal the industrial depth

Boschman, Fastmicro, HQ Pack and ITEC are grouped by the pavilion around advanced packaging and high-tech packaging. FononTech, MECAL, Schunk Xycarb Technology, SCIL Nanoimprint Solutions, Tempress, Trymax and SFC Energy sit across process equipment and supporting technologies.

This is the less visible part of the semiconductor economy. Yield depends on contamination control, materials handling, patterning, deposition, packaging and inspection as much as it depends on headline transistor architecture. Suppliers that solve narrow production problems can become difficult to replace once they are qualified into customer processes.

NTS and Prodrive show how Brainport's precision-engineering model travels

NTS and Prodrive Technologies represent precision engineering and manufacturing, while HITEC Power Protection supplies high-tech infrastructure. Their inclusion highlights the crossover between the semiconductor cluster and the wider Brainport model, where specialist engineering companies design subsystems, electronics and manufacturing solutions for demanding equipment customers.

That network effect is one reason Eindhoven's technology economy is hard to reproduce through subsidies alone. A leading equipment company can create demand for hundreds of specialised capabilities, but those suppliers also need customers outside a single anchor group if the cluster is to remain resilient through semiconductor cycles.

Taiwan is the right place to test whether the Dutch ecosystem is internationally useful

Taiwan remains the centre of global contract chip manufacturing and SEMICON Taiwan brings the Dutch suppliers directly into contact with foundries, equipment companies and technology buyers. The commercial test for a pavilion is not attendance. It is whether participants turn meetings into qualified projects, distributor relationships, design-ins or equipment orders.

That is also why the 19-company list has durable value beyond this week's exhibition. It provides a starting map for readers, investors and customers looking for Dutch semiconductor exposure outside the handful of listed names most often associated with the sector.
