ASML has started building the physical capacity for its next growth phase. The Dutch semiconductor-equipment company broke ground on 8 September at Brainport Industries Campus North near Eindhoven Airport, beginning a multi-phase project that it says could eventually cover about 350,000 square metres and provide capacity for as many as 20,000 workplaces.
The scale matters beyond one company. ASML is the critical supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography systems used to manufacture the world's most advanced semiconductors.
